DOEs for interferometrically testing the shape of cylindrical lenses
The two identical DOEs in a gracing incidence interferometer have two different functions. The DOEs create the wavefront containing the information about the ideal shape of the cylindrical lens. Thus, it is a classical null-lens application. Moreover, the interferometric beam splitting and combining is also provided by the DOEs at the same time. This application is a typical example of wavefront shaping.
