Testing Optics

In this example, a high-NA aspheric lens (NA=0.6) is tested which is used to collimate the light of a laser diode through a cover glass. Here, no cover glass was used and the remaining spherical aberration is clearly visible. The test was performed with SHSInspect, which provides a number of comprehensive tools (e.g. a Zernike bar plot) to facilitate the alignment of the sample and to analyse the results (e.g. MTF plot).
