The key factors in quality control of ophthalmic lenses are time, cost, and efficiency. Manual inspection is – depending on the operator – hard, time-consuming, and inconsistent. Furthermore, inspection decisions cannot be digitally traced after the measurement. With QualiLENS® inspection systems, you take your quality control to a new level through fully automated inspection, making subjective evaluations a thing of the past.
Precise and traceable inspection in just a few seconds
QualiLENS® systems use deflectometry technology and algorithms optimized over many years to detect cosmetic defects – such as chips, scratches, and machining marks – that conventional systems fail to detect. They also capture geometric features such as engravings and lens diameters. In just a few seconds, the system provides detailed inspection maps, a rich dataset with detailed defect information, and a reliable pass/fail decision. All measurement data are automatically stored digitally and remains available for future re-inspections and validation processes, supporting traceability.
Accurate and traceable evaluation in just a few seconds
Different production concepts require flexible software structures. Whether it’s pure image capture, general defect detection, or classified defect detection—the QualiLENS®100 offers the right software package for every application. The Co-Pilot software features a wizard-based configurator and an interactive tutorial that guide the user from initial setup through the inspection process. Thanks to the guided setup, operators can create an initial inspection model in about 15 minutes and begin inspecting the first lens.Seamless integration into production lines
In production, QualiLENS improves quality control from day one. The Co-Pilot software helps manufacturers prepare step by step for the transition to full automation.
Thanks to QualiLENS®’s fast image capture and autonomous image processing, the inspection system can be integrated directly into automated production processes (e.g., via a robot interface). This increases inspection throughput and enables a scalable increase in production.
Our solution for cosmetic defect detection
The QualiLENS®100 and QualiLENS®150 systems inspect contact lenses and intraocular lenses in just a few seconds and provide immediate information on lens diameter, shape, and cosmetic defects.
